Dashboard Overview
The dashboard is the home page of InsightLens. When your database is empty you’ll see a Welcome to InsightLens card prompting you to import your first survey. Once you have data, the dashboard fills with four sections.
Stats row
Four cards across the top summarise your database:
- Total Units — the number of distinct units with at least one survey.
- Total Surveys — the total number of survey offerings imported.
- Avg Response Rate — average across every imported survey.
- Total Comments — count of student comments extracted from those surveys.
Trend, recent surveys, AI preview
The middle row has three cards:
- Overall Experience Trend — a line chart of average overall experience across semesters. Hover for exact values.
- Recent Surveys — the five most recently imported offerings. Click any row to jump to that unit’s detail page.
- Ask InsightLens — a preview of the AI chat. If you haven’t set up a provider, it points you at Settings. If you have, you can start a conversation straight from here.
The bottom row gives you a quick snapshot of extremes:
- Top Performers — units with overall experience ≥ 85 % over the last 12 months, grouped by semester. Each entry links to the unit detail page. Use the CSV and Report buttons to export the list.
- Units Needing Attention — units whose scores are trending down or sitting below benchmark, with the same CSV / Markdown export buttons.
These are the same lists you can open in full on the Performance Reports page, just cut down to what fits on the dashboard.
Refreshing
The dashboard pulls live from your local database — there’s nothing to refresh. Every time you import new surveys, the stats and cards will update the next time you visit the page.
